OLIVIA COGGAN SHARES ETHEREAL NEW SINGLE ‘FAULT LINE’

Like a glowing sunset on a warm summer’s day, the brand new single Fault Line out today from Australian indie folk-pop songstress Olivia Coggan radiates with lush arrangements and dreamy melodies. Also armed with a powerful personal narrative, Fault Line follows on from Olivia’s previous 2026 singles lend me your heart and bulletproof.

 

Raw, heartfelt and dazzling with authenticity, Fault Line finds Olivia nodding to the likes of Maggie Rogers, Hazlett, The Japanese House, Del Water Gap, Jeremy Zucker and Gracie Abrams, with a serene merging of indie-folk and pop charmed further by Olivia’s evocative vocals. Produced by Tim Goodburn and mastered by Paul Blakey, Fault Line ultimately channels Olivia’s own experiences into her stunning new creation, as she elaborates, “The song was inspired by my own experience of navigating change over the past year and learning to trust my instinct to follow what feels right, even when it’s scary. Fault Line is really about that pull towards the unknown — standing on the edge of something bigger and hearing a quiet inner voice that keeps guiding you forward, even when you can’t see exactly where it’s leading. It sits in that space between excitement and fear, in that moment before change where everything feels uncertain but full of possibility at the same time.”

 

Introduced to music from a very young age, Olivia’s innate knack for winsome indie earworms with a touch of folk and coastal hues stems back to her upbringing, reflecting her early life growing up in the Illawarra region in New South Wales as well as spending much of her childhood in dressing rooms of theatres and falling asleep behind the merch desk at her father’s shows, the award-winning Australian musician and actor Darren Coggan. Harbouring a love for music and singing for most of her life, her passion for songwriting sparked while in high school. From there, Olivia’s creative journey saw her accepted into a talent development project before leaving high school and being taken under the wing of Kasey Chambers; and the rest truly was history, with the support and guidance of her father Darren, and also an ongoing creative collaboration with her brother Gabe whose visuals feature across Olivia’s entire catalogue.

 

With her earliest influences spanning Cat Stevens through to James Taylor, Missy Higgins, Kasey Chambers and John Mayer, Olivia has gone on to tour with some of her own musical heroes, including Missy Higgins, Boy & Bear, The Dreggs and Kim Churchill, while also performing at festivals with the likes of Sons of the East, Pacific Avenue and Matt Corby, and has landed radio airplay across NOVA and triple j along the way.

 

“I think music goes much deeper than just a catchy tune,” Olivia shares. “It’s a universal language and something that has always been there for me to turn to no matter what. It has been a part of my life since I was born, and it means everything to me. I listen to such a wide range of different genres and artists that really inspire me and help me feel seen, heard and understood. I think it’s really cool that musicians can do that. As an artist in today’s music scene there are a lot of hurdles and things to navigate but my love for it and my calling in it, is what allows me to keep pushing through, and I do. With things like AI, fast tracking the creative process and creating instant material is really sad. I don’t know anyone who wants to skim over the creating part, that is where the joy in it all is for me. Music gives me purpose and a voice to speak up and connect. That is something I’ll never take for granted. I’ll love it forever.”

 

Starting next month, Olivia will hit the road armed with her brand new track Fault Line, performing at The Espy in Melbourne on Thursday August 6, La La La’s in Wollongong on Friday August 21 and The Eveleigh Hotel in Sydney on Friday August 28. Set to bring her full band and plenty of new tunes to be christened live in action for the first time, it will truly be a run of unforgettable shows from one of Australia’s brightest up-and-coming storytellers.

 

“I’m so excited to be heading on tour with my full band in celebration of my new song Fault Line,” says Olivia. “I’ll be playing a lot of my new material live for the first time, and I can’t wait to share those moments with audiences. These shows feel really special already. With so much artificiality in the world right now, especially with things like AI, I wanted to create a show that brings people to feel things that are REAL. A live show that’s honest, emotional, fun and shared among everyone.

 

“My goal is always to create a space where people can step out of whatever is going on in their lives and just be present for one night of music,” Olivia concludes. “I feel really lucky to be joined by incredible support acts Callum Mac, Lani Faith and Madeliene Cope, along with some special guests throughout the run. There are so many moments to share, and I can’t wait to bring everyone along for the ride.

PHIL JAMIESON SHARES NEW SINGLE ‘BLUE AS THE SUNLIGHT’

Australian singer-songwriter Phil Jamieson continues to unveil his most expansive solo era yet with the release of new single, Blue As The Sunlight, the second offering from his forthcoming sophomore album, 10Charlie (out August 14 and available to presave here).

Arriving on the heels of the project’s first single Weekends, Blue As The Sunlight further showcases Jamieson’s evolving solo sound; a blend of vivid storytelling, atmospheric guitar work and a vocal delivery that moves between tenderness and raw intensity. The track deepens the emotional and sonic palette already introduced on 10Charlie, revealing another side of an album shaped by reflection, resilience and renewal.

 

“Blue is about unconditional love. Not just for others, but for yourself as well,” explains Jamieson.”In some ways, from my perspective, this is about having empathy and forgiveness. It’s about allowing yourself to be loved and also in doing so, loving others. It’s this feeling that pierces through the melody.”

 

“Lyrically, it’s a little obtuse in some ways, but the drama of the song comes from me trying to communicate that on my own personal journey, I’ve unlocked a way to spread love and do it in an unconditional manner. I’m not always great at it, but I try. That’s the purpose behind the track.”

10Charlie finds Jamieson at his most direct and personal, capturing moments of introspection and clarity while leaning into collaboration with a handpicked group of Australian musicians and longtime creative allies. Reuniting with producer Oscar Dawson, the record features contributions from Davey Lane, Rob Muinos, Ben Edgar and Soph Ozard, weaving together a collection that shifts between meditative space and explosive release.

 

Following the announcement of his massive national PJ AIR tour – spanning more than 40 shows across Australia – Jamieson will take Blue As The Sunlight and the broader 10Charlie material on the road, bringing the new era to breweries, theatres and beloved local venues nationwide. The tour celebrates the grassroots circuit that has long underpinned Australian live music culture, connecting new songs with the audiences that shaped his career. ELLA HOOPER SHARES STOMPING NEW SINGLE ‘I GOT EYES (ON YOU)’

Ella Hooper delivers a bold, barroom banger in new single, I Got Eyes (On You).  An upbeat, finger-wagging, foot-stomping anthem that swaps heartbreak for hard-won clarity. Released today, the single is packed with jumping zydeco squeezebox and an earworm chorus that lets Hooper rip into a classic ‘fool me twice’ tale. This track feels like beer spilling on pub floorboards while the band plays on. Landing like an Americana response to Robyn’s Dancing On My Own – but Hooper’s not crying in the corner, she’s walking out the door.

I Got Eyes (On You) follows last year’s Springsteen flavored coming of age track – Growing Up Is Hard To Do.

“I Got Eyes (On You) is the next step in sharing this new era. I’m pushing the boundaries of what Americana means to me.. including more of the diverse flavours I love like the Cajun and Zydeco elements here. From the crazy playing on it, to the production, to the cheeky lyrics –  I’m really proud of it”

Written and recorded in Nashville with a who’s who of players, the track was born from a modern day music-industry meet-cute. After becoming obsessed with the work of East Nashville songwriter Melody Walker, co-writer of Sierra Ferrell’s Dollar Bill Bar and the Grammy Award-winning American Dreaming, Hooper slid into Walker’s DMs to heap praise on the songs she couldn’t stop spinning. A connection sparked and months later, Walker was assembling the backing band for Hooper’s Americanafest appearance (Americana’s answer to SXSW) and the pair found time for a co-write in Walker’s living room.

Following a long walk-and-talk around Radnor Lake where both women unpacked a helluva few years and wondered whether they (and maybe the world) were ready for a little cheek and levity, they set out to write something with grit, smarts and heart. The result: a relatable, no-BS “I’m done with you” anthem for anyone who’s chosen a swift exit over being the ‘pick me’ girl.

The studio band reads like a Nashville honour roll: Sheryl Crow’s drummer Fred Eltringham, Tom “Uncle Larry” Bukovac on guitar, Rachel Loy (Willie Nelson, Vince Gill) on bass, not to mention bringing Linda Ronstadt and James Taylor’s pedal steel player – the iconic Dan Dugmore – out of semi-retirement to feature on the track. The sound is loose, live and electric, capturing the joy of seasoned players in a room chasing the same spark. A notable Melbourne based addition is Flora Smith, squeeze box virtuoso and granddaughter in law of Australian music pioneers, Slim Dusty and Joy McKean. Stacked is an understatement.

“I’ve wanted to record in Nashville since I was a kid reading my parents’ record liner notes, seeing the city’s name pop up again and again,” says Hooper. “Seems like every great singer-songwriter from Dylan to CMAT has their Nashville record, and I felt ready for mine. Being there so much these last few years I feel plugged into a community — especially in East Nashville — that feels like a perfect chrysalis for my musical evolution.”

Accompanying the release is Hooper’s wildest, most joyfully unfiltered music video yet, a high-octane live-performance romp shot in her beloved North East Victoria, in and around the iconic North Eastern Hotel in Euroa. Directed by long-time photographic collaborator Laura May Grogan and shot by Indigo Tait-Atkin, the all-female crew captured the countrified patina of the late-1880s watering hole where Hooper genuinely plays and hangs out. It’s Hooper being fully, unapologetically herself – boots on boards, eyes wide open.

“I’ve been wanting to do a live performance clip for ages, as playing with my band is such a big part of what I do,” beams Hooper. “Laura and Indi encouraged me to bring my authentic energy and yes, my silliness to the fore. Working with a tight crew of young female creatives on something so bad ass was honestly pretty special. Everyone burned the midnight oil to get it done, including calling in favours from my country friends for catering and cameos. This a window into my actual reality. Just add dancing on top of cars, being a bar-wench and bringing the razzle dazzle to a 1880s Victorian era pub – which I definitely don’t do every weekend!”

Hooper’s origin story of exploding on to the scene with the band Killing Heidi is well documented. Scoring No. 1 albums, Rolling Stone covers, a stack of ARIA’s and pop culture phenom status as the millennium broke, she is a well loved and respected veteran of the Aus music scene.

Branching out into a solo career, Hooper has continued to surprise and dazzle with her dexterous musical flair, trading in everything from pop rock to synth folk, her evolving craft as a writer has been clocked and celebrated by critics. Her most recent solo album, 2023’s Small Town Temple, was nominated for the Australian Music Prize. The record shared deeply personal narratives over warm acoustic sounds and debuted at #1 on the Australian Country chart. Firmly in her country era and splitting her time between Nashville and Melbourne, Hooper’s sonic shapeshifting continues to transfix both on airwaves and in a live setting.

Hooper has captured the energetic rock chick energy she is known for and blended it with a whole lot of twang on this new single.

PETE MURRAY SHARES ROUSING NEW SINGLE ‘HOME TO ME’ CURRENTLY TOURING NATIONALLY ON 56 DATE SOLO ACOUSTIC RUN

A warm and rousing new addition to the Pete Murray universe, today the beloved singer-songwriter shares a brand new single Home To Me. Embracing folk and country flavours into Pete’s trademark tranquility, Home To Me also arrives amidst Pete’s extensive 56-date national acoustic solo tour, supported by Rachael Fahim and Brett Wood across the country.

 

Sparkling with acoustic guitar and honeyed vocals alongside country twangs and soft, shuffling percussion, Home To Me is a sublime meeting point between Pete’s uplifting folk-rock roots and some fresher sonic terrain, as Pete explains, “I don’t know if he has influenced me, but I’ve been listening to a bit of Kenny Rogers over the last few years. He has some classic songs. The country artist I’ve been listening to is Chris Stapleton. Chris has a killer voice and guitar tone.”

 

Initially penned during time spent in Nashville, Home To Me sprang to life quickly ahead of Pete’s first-ever co-writing session in the ‘Country Music Capital of the World’. And while a strikingly intimate outing that blossomed alongside Phil Barton, producer Garrett Kato and some engineering from Luke Palmer, Home To Me is a universal love letter to finding ‘the one’, with the country flavours that Pete was seeking ultimately expanding via Kato’s contributions, as well as Benny Edger adding some lap steel to proceedings. “I was doing some co-writing for the first time in Nashville,” shares Pete of Home To Me’s origin story, “and I wanted to write some country music for someone else. I was really nervous that I would rock up to the session the next day and have nothing to offer so I started writing the song that night. I pretty much had half of the music and lyrics written before I turned up to the session. I was writing with Aussie songwriter Phil Barton and Phil is a killer writer so it didn’t take long for him to work his magic and before we knew it, the song was done. It wasn’t written about anyone, it was more about what love means to people when you get it right. As the lyrics say, ‘No matter where we are or where we’re going to be, when we’re apart you’re the missing piece – there’s one thing you should know and one thing you gotta believe, honey you’re always home to me’.”

 

Having sold over 1.2 million albums, and generating hundreds of millions of streams, releasing three ARIA chart-topping albums and scooping up 17 ARIA Award nominations over the years, Pete Murray is undoubtedly one of Australia’s most enduring and endearing success stories. From the release of this debut full-length album, 2001’s The Game, through to his breakout 2003 album Feeler and, most recently, 2017’s Comacho, Pete has maintained his status for blending laidback charisma and magnetic live performances for decades while cultivating airplay, sales, streams and a dedicated fanbase that most could only dream of. Armed with a potent sonic brew that spans acoustic, rock, folk and more, witnessed on his multiple hits like Better Days, Feeler, Opportunity and So Beautiful, Pete’s live show has also been repeatedly praised for his smooth delivery, expert craftsmanship, and his inescapable ability to make you feel right at home in any venue and setting.

 

With countless headline shows with his band at home and across the world under his belt, and previous performances alongside the likes of Missy Higgins, Icehouse, Rob Thomas, James Blunt and more, 2025 has also found Pete ticking off yet another career first: performing an entirely acoustic headline run around Australia, with a mammoth 56-date tour currently in motion that spans practically every pocket of the country.

 

“I’m loving it!” enthuses Pete of his current tour. “So many shows have sold out and others are close to selling out on this tour. It’s been a very different tour for me being my first solo tour in Australia. Lots of stories and lots of song-a-longs.”

 

And while playing the Melbourne Recital Centre in April has been a recent standout for Pete on this current tour (with Lilithia Reviews praising: “Murray is a natural performer, an incredible songwriter, and in a room as large as Melbourne’s Recital Centre, he makes it feel like it’s just the two of us, huddled around a campfire, exchanging life stories.”), Pete’s ultimate favourite thing about touring regionally and so extensively is the chance to dig even deeper on home soil. “Getting to see new places is my favourite thing,” Pete concludes. “Australia is such a massive country, even though I’m doing a massive 60 date tour I haven’t even scratched the surface of places to go in this country.”
